About Us

Valtline Webcam shows the Alps between Lombardy and Graubünden live: Valtellina, Valposchiavo, the Engadin, Val Müstair, Valchiavenna and the valleys around them. Every webcam has its own page, with the latest photo, the day's timelapse and the weather at the camera's altitude.

What it is for

To see what the mountains look like right now, before you set off. Whether you are going skiing in Bormio or Livigno, driving over the Stelvio or the Bernina, or just want to know if the sun is out in the Engadin, you find the picture of this moment here, with the time it was taken.

How it works

The cameras send a new photo every few minutes during daylight; some broadcast live video. Under the title of each page is the time of the latest photo: if a camera is standing still, for example because it is seasonal, the page says so and shows the last picture received. The timelapse plays back the hours before, and the archive keeps past days. The site is free and funded by advertising; Premium removes the ads for those who prefer.

What you find

The webcams are grouped by valley and by place: Bormio, Livigno, Santa Caterina Valfurva, the Stelvio Pass, Sondrio, Tirano and Aprica in Valtellina; Poschiavo, Brusio and the Bernina Pass in Valposchiavo; St. Moritz, Silvaplana, Sils, Maloja and Scuol in the Engadin; then Val Müstair, Valchiavenna, Val Masino, Val Camonica and Val Venosta. There are collections for the Alpine passes, the ski slopes, the lakes and the Bernina railway, and a map with every camera. The pages are in Italian, English, German and Spanish.

Pictures and data

Some of the cameras are ours; the others belong to local operators who allow them to be shown. The weather comes from MeteoSwiss, Open-Meteo and OpenWeather and refers to the camera's altitude. The webcams show what the camera sees: whether a pass is open is always decided by the authority that runs the road.

Who we are and contact

Valtline has existed since 12 February 1996. Until recently it ran the site itself; it has since become part of the Swiss company Visual Working S.A., which now runs Valtline Webcam from Via Cantonale 29, 7744 Campocologno, in Valposchiavo (Switzerland). For information, partnerships, a camera to add or an error to report, write to webcam@valtline.it.
