This webcam, in brief

How the camera works and what to expect from the images.

What can you see from the Bormio 3000 webcam?

Bormio 3000, the top station of the cable car at Cima Bianca, at 3,012 metres above Alta Valtellina. It is the camera to watch for snow up high and for visibility above the clouds.

Reading of 8 October 2026 at 14:06 (local time): it is not snowing now; the next snow is forecast today at about 17:00. Snow on the ground is not measured: the picture shows it. At 3,012 metres snow usually arrives early in autumn and stays until late spring. The webcam shows it in real time; for the lower pistes check Bormio 2000.

How long is the descent from Bormio 3000 to the town?

From Cima Bianca, at 3,012 metres, you ski down to Bormio, at 1,225: about 1,800 metres of vertical drop in a single descent, which in its final stretch follows the World Cup Stelvio piste.

Is the image live? How often does it update?

When the camera is running, the image updates automatically every few minutes during daylight hours. At this altitude wind and fog can obscure the lens: the time of the latest snapshot is always shown on the page.

Is Bormio 3000 open in summer?

The lifts also open in the summer season for hikers and bikers, on a calendar that changes every year: check the ski area's website. The webcam stays on all year.

Discover Bormio

Cima Bianca, 3,012 metres, is not the top of the mountain. Monte Vallecetta, 3,148 metres, lies a little further on: from the top station you walk round the building and take the ridge, which under snow becomes mountaineers' terrain. Bormio 3000 is the name the lifts gave to this arrival point: three thousand metres reached without taking a step.

Two lifts arrive up here: the cable car from Bormio 2000 and the four-seat chairlift that climbs from Valbella. From the summit you look at the Ortles-Cevedale group: the Ortles, 3,905 metres, the Gran Zebrù, the Cevedale, 3,769 metres, and, closer, Monte Confinale. They are mountains of the Stelvio National Park, established in 1935.

In summer you can also come down from Cima Bianca by bike: a 13-kilometre route, downhill all the way, leads to Santa Caterina Valfurva past the Bei Laghetti and the Profa lakes. In every season there are almost 1,800 metres between the square in Bormio and the summit, and the weather can be quite different: the town under cloud and the summit in the sun, or the other way round.
